Alberta’s New Government & What It Means For The Legal System and All Albertans
The closest separation for a majority government in Alberta’s history. Danielle Smith and the UCP with a majority government, with 49 seats to Rachel Notley and the NDP‘s 36 seats. But what does this mean for Alberta? What will happen with the legal system and every Albertans lives?
Well, Danielle Smith’s first agenda is to use the Sovereignty Act to block the federal government from implementing a higher carbon tax. The federal government is going to be raising the Carbon Tax in July and that would mean every Albertan will be paying up to 61 cent extra on fuel, groceries, and living expenses. Danielle Smith will do her best to stop the rise in Carbon Tax.
We all know that crime has gone skyrocketing in the last few years with the federal government allowing the capture and release. Danielle Smith is going to be bringing up a plan to tackle this issue that the major cities in Alberta are having with ‘Assaults’ on the LRT’s and the Mental Health of the homeless population. She is going to bring more officers in to help the cities with policing and support for the homeless population and crime.
With that being said, Danielle Smith and the UCP’s are going to get Albertan’s personal and business taxes lowered for every Albertan.
The UCP Government is going to tackle the federal government over the Carbon Tax, the Freedoms of Speech and Expression, and the catch-and-release laws to make the streets safer through the Sovereignty Act.
